Too often I receive calls from clients or new prospects needing promotional products in a rush for an upcoming trade show or event. Usually, that last minute call is because promotional products were never considered until the very end. While we do offer rush promotional items as quickly as same day production, these items often lose their effectiveness if they are treated as an afterthought with no plan. If you are buying promotional items only to randomly give them away at your next trade show, you're missing a huge opportunity to create a return on these investments. If simply handed out at random to every schmuck who passes your trade show booth, these items will likely not have the effect desired, which is to help those attendees remember your company.

Each year, I have the privilege of attending the PPAI Expo in Las Vegas, which is the largest promotional products trade show in the world. PPAI Expo 2018 was host to over 1200 suppliers with nearly 25,000 attendees and more than 250,000 promotional products showcased! Not only am I able to connect with existing suppliers for Perfect Imprints, but I’m also able to connect with new suppliers within the industry. This helps expand our product offering and strengthen existing relationships with our vendors.  One major benefit of the thousands of exhibitors at PPAI Expo is that I’m able to identify trending promotional products within the marketplace, allowing Perfect Imprints to better serve our clients.  Based on the recent exhibiting products at PPAI Expo 2018, I’ve identified the following promos as hot and trending for 2018.  Note: Some of my favs are not available yet on our website because they are so new. As a business owner, a common goal is to be #1 in your market. Your market might be only your local town, your region, or nationwide. For some companies, it could even be international. Either way, your company must have excellent relationships with your suppliers to reach that goal. You can't dominate your market if you have unreliable suppliers. Your suppliers must be trustworthy, fairly priced, and reliable. They must be willing to work with your company to overcome challenges if they arise, which any business owner knows far too well these "challenges" can show their face at the most inopportune times. On the flip side, you must be willing to reciprocate the business relationship with your suppliers. That means not beating them up on pricing. It means being loyal. It requires good communication.

Custom Frio Vault CoolersLiving in Florida, coolers are a necessity since Floridians spend so much time outdoors at the beach, boating, at local parks and festivals, and many other outdoor events. Over the past few years, Yeti coolers have become incredibly popular due to their extraordinary ability to keep ice for days at a time. However, the cost of Yeti coolers is prohibitive for most companies when looking for custom printed ice chests. At the most recent PPAI Expo in Las Vegas, I ran across some custom coolers that boasted similar results to the Yeti coolers, but had a much lower price point. With the soft-sided coolers, I liked that these coolers were actually soft, unlike the rigid "soft-sided" Yeti coolers (Hopper 30).

With the beginning of each new year comes the PPAI Expo, which is the largest promotional products trade show and held in Las Vegas, NV. At the expo, more than 11,000 promotional products distributors attend, along with roughly 1,300 promotional products suppliers to exhibit over 1,000,000 square feet of promotional products. Along with the exhibits, there are many educational sessions and networking events located at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center from January 10-14, 2016.
