In today's society, women are strong and independent and can conquer anything! So it is difficult to think that just 97 years ago, women could not even vote. On August 26, 1920, the 19th Amendment was adopted to the U.S. Constitution granting women the right to vote. For over 70 years, women struggled in the U.S. to prove their worth and value as members of society and to be granted the right to have a say in all matters of our nation. Every year on August 26, we now celebrate Women's Equality Day to commemorate the historic moment when women took a huge step forward! Celebration of this day tends to include influential women making speeches all across the U.S.
